The Ultimate Guide to Using the Panic SOS Button App

STARTER SCREENS
When you start the Panic SOS Button/Panic SOS Button Plus app for the first time, you can see an overview of its amazing safety capabilities. Loading the app again will not display these screens. You can revisit the overview by clicking on "Getting Started" on the Menu.

INITIAL SETUP
If this is the first time you're launching the app, we guide you through an initial setup to make sure that Panic SOS Button/Panic SOS Button Plus is set up in the best way possible, maximizing your safety.

  • Emergency Contact Phone Numbers. Enter a designated, trusted phone number. If this is an SMS/Text-enabled smartphone device, it will receive your Panic Alerts.
  • Emergency Contact Email Addresses. Enter a designated, trusted email address. Your Panic Alerts will be emailed to this recipient.
  • Cancel Codes. If a Panic Alert is triggered, you may be asked to cancel your "distress call". Panic SOS Button/Panic SOS Button Plus allows you to enter a "FAKE" and a "REAL" Cancel Code. FAKE Cancel Codes will make the app look like your distress signal has been cancelled, when it really isn't, and is still broadcasting your distress. REAL Cancel Codes will send a message to your designated, trusted recipients that you are safe.
  • Speed Limit. If you or your loved ones are supposed to be traveling a certain speed, such as walking to and from school, then you can set a speed limit. If the mobile device travels faster than your setting, perhaps while in a vehicle when they aren't supposed to be, a Panic Alert is automatically triggered and your contacts will be notified.
  • Safety Perimeter. Establish boundaries. If you or your loved ones are supposed to travel only within a set area, you can draw out a "safety fence" (i.e. School, Work, Grandma's House). If the mobile device travels outside of this perimeter, a Panic Alert is automatically triggered and your contacts will be notified.

MAIN SCREEN
PRESS & HOLD the SOS button for a few seconds to activate a Panic Alert. The button will indicate when the alert has been sent successfully. You must have Mobile Data (or WiFi) and Location enabled for accuracy and precision.

You can also see how many Panic Alerts you have left, if Speed Limit*, Safety Perimeter* and Beacon* are enabled, and if you have linked your Facebook and/or Twitter Social Media Accounts. Tapping these items will take you to the respective settings.

* these features are available in Panic SOS Button Plus only.
